This position is responsible for generating and processing payroll and performing its underlying functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Processing bi-weekly and monthly payrolls,
Manage, maintain and respond to content for Payroll email box
Familiar with payroll policy and procedures – both internal and external that impact payroll processing (e.g., compliance issues)
Assist with the processing monthly, quarterly and year-end payroll tax returns.
Assist with the preparation and generation of W-2s on all employees at year-end.
Keeps abreast of changes, developments regarding payroll administration, taxes and the governing of state and federal rules and laws.
Interact with accountants regarding payroll related general ledger issues
Act as liaison between division management and payroll department
Completes special projects and other tasks as assigned by the payroll supervisor or senior management.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance;
Three to five years of previous multi-state payroll experience, preferably in a 300+ employee setting;
Excellent computer skills (spreadsheet applications and HR/PR systems, i.e. Lawson, Kronos Time Keeping System and Excel);
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal);
