Job summary

State of Washington Attorney General's Office in Olympia, WA, is recruiting for a permanent full-time Fiscal Analyst 4 in the Financial Services Division. This position performs payroll processing and financial analysis for about 1,825 agency employees, with opportunities for in-training from Fiscal Analyst 3.

The role emphasizes accuracy, adherence to OFM rules, RCW, and WAC, and supports agency-wide financial processing and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting and three years of relevant professional experience.
• Master’s degree in a financial related field, certification as a Public Accountant, Internal Auditor, Certified Governmental Financial Manager or Management Accountant can be substituted for professional experience.
• In-training option available from Fiscal Analyst 3 to advance into Fiscal Analyst 4 after training and demonstrated knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Process a variety of payroll transactions for approximately 1,825 agency employees.
• Assist with agency-wide financial processing and reconciliation.
• Ensure reports comply with OFM rules, RCW, WAC and CSR and maintain data accuracy.
• Organize and distribute payroll-related information and reports.

Education

Bachelor’s degree with 18 qtr hours OR 12 sem hours in accounting, auditing or budgeting

Master’s degree in a financial-related field or equivalent qualifications
