Job summary

Aalo Atomics, based in Austin, TX, is seeking a Payroll and Equity Coordinator to own equity plan administration and payroll accounting end-to-end. You will manage equity grants in Carta, post and reconcile payroll entries, and ensure close and audit readiness.

This hands-on role requires understanding how stock options affect payroll and how cap table data ties to the general ledger. You will drive reconciliations across HRIS, Carta, and GL, supporting month-end processes and IPO readiness.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of combined experience across payroll accounting and equity plan administration.
• Hands-on experience with a cap table platform (Carta strongly preferred) and a modern payroll/HRIS platform (Rippling a plus).
• Working knowledge of equity taxation: ISO vs NSO treatment, disqualifying dispositions, RSU withholding, and Form 3921 reporting.
• Solid GL accounting fundamentals: journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and accruals. NetSuite experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Equity administration: Run the equity grant process, recordkeeping, and reconcile exercises and terminations.
• Payroll and benefits accounting: GL posting, monthly reconciliations, benefits accruals, and wage processing.
• Analyst review: assemble reconciliation packages, analyze variances vs prior periods and budget, and support audit/documents.
