Our client, a professional organization with global reach, is looking to add a Payroll Coordinator to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$23/hr - $26/hr DOE
Position Overview:
The Payroll Coordinator will support the Payroll, Benefits, and Human Resources functions by assisting employees with benefits enrollment, maintaining employee records, and supporting payroll processing activities. This is a contract-only position requiring an immediate start. While there is potential for conversion to a permanent role, this is not guaranteed.
Responsibilities of the Payroll Coordinator:
- Manage new hire onboarding and employee records, including audits of personnel files, I-9s, and compliance documentation in HR/Payroll and Time & Attendance systems (CEGID).
- Provide employee support for self-service, timekeeping, payroll inquiries, and benefits enrollment while maintaining confidentiality and regulatory compliance.
- Support payroll operations by processing adjustments, terminations, off-cycle payrolls, deductions, and validating timekeeping and attendance records.
- Prepare and maintain payroll, compliance, and audit reports, including quarterly new hire activity, EEO-1, BLS, and financial/GL reporting (Excel required).
- Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments, 401(k) and transit changes, vendor file audits, and benefits communications.
- Serve as cross-trained payroll backup, handling payroll funding reports, severance processing, and employee data updates as needed.
Required Experience/Skills for the Payroll Coordinator:
- Minimum 2 years of experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Close attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including intermediate Excel skills.
- Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Payroll Coordinator:
- Experience in HR administration, payroll processing, or benefits administration.
- Experience with UKG Pro (Ultimate Software).
- Familiarity with Time & Attendance systems.
- Experience supporting audits and compliance reporting.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma is required.
