Job summary

Washington Elementary School District is seeking a Payroll Analyst to process the district's payroll accurately and in compliance with all applicable laws. The role reports to the Payroll Manager and requires meticulous data handling and strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities include generating essential payroll reports and applying tax rules, maintaining records, and assisting employees and administrators with payroll inquiries.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years of related payroll data management experience.
• Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC) required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of payroll reports (bank reconciliation, taxes) for district personnel and agencies.
• Apply Federal and State tax laws to ensure compliance in withholding, payments, and reporting.
• Maintain payroll-related records (pay class, dependent status, sick leave) for timely and accurate compensation.
• Respond to employee inquiries and provide information or direction as needed.
• Serve as payroll backup in Payroll Manager's absence.
• Research and respond to inquiries from district employees and outside entities about payroll procedures.
• Maintain compliance with federal/state/local laws affecting payroll records.
