Job summary

MAOF in Montebello, CA is seeking a Payroll Clerk to join the Payroll Department. Under the Payroll Manager, you will back up payroll processing, finalize reports for remitting payments to vendors and employees, and perform routine tasks to ensure payroll is completed accurately and on time.

Responsibilities include processing timecards, entering data into Ceridian, handling garnishments and deductions, maintaining payroll records, and assisting employees with paycheck questions.

Qualifications

• Two years of paid payroll experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; some college accounting units.
• Experience with automated payroll systems, preferably Ceridian.
• Strong computer skills; MS Excel and Word.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; detail oriented.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines; Monday–Friday work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Process timecards and payroll for all employees on pay days.
• Maintain payroll operations per company policies.
• Transmit payroll data into Ceridian and verify accuracy.
• Process garnishments, termination checks, and deductions.
• Audit timesheets and prepare payroll records.
• Prepare reports for government agencies and auditors.
• Maintain confidentiality of payroll information.
