Job summary

Smiths Detection is seeking a Payroll/Benefits Specialist in the United States to ensure accurate, timely payroll processing and benefits administration. You will audit timekeeping, manage deductions, support year-end activities, and respond to employee inquiries while delivering high-quality customer service.

The role requires a strong knowledge of ADP and SAP, plus proficiency in Excel. A commitment to compliance and confidentiality is essential for success in a global safety-focused

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience, including payroll audits and reconciliations.
• Payroll or benefits certification, such as FPC, CPP, or CEBS, is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process union and non-union payroll in accordance with applicable agreements and regulations.
• Review and validate timekeeping to ensure accuracy each pay cycle.
• Process and audit commissions, bonuses, and retroactive pay.
• Maintain accurate employee records and audit payroll reports.
• Research and resolve payroll-related inquiries from employees and managers.
• Assist with year-end activities and benefit deductions updates.
• Generate routine payroll reports for HR, Finance, and management.
