Job summary

Talent Acquisition LLC seeks an experienced Payroll & Benefits Manager to oversee multi-state payroll and firm-wide benefits administration. You will ensure payroll accuracy, regulatory compliance, and process improvements while partnering with HR, Finance, and leadership to deliver an exceptional employee experience.

Responsibilities include end-to-end payroll processing, benefits administration, vendor liaison, annual open enrollment, and year-end reporting.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive payroll and benefits administration experience.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (prefer ADP).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end multi-state payroll, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant processing.
  • Oversee administration of employee benefits, including health, retirement, leave, FSA/HSA, life, and disability programs.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with payroll, benefits, and retirement vendors.
  • Lead annual open enrollment, employee communications, and vendor coordination.
  • Audit payroll and benefits data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor payroll, tax, and employment law changes and implement required updates.
  • Support year-end activities, including W-2s, ACA reporting, retirement plan compliance, and audits.
  • Respond to employee payroll and benefits inquiries with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Partner with HR and Finance on reporting, system enhancements, and process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain payroll and benefits policies and procedures.

  • Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems, preferably ADP.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.

Preferred

  • Experience in a law firm or other professional services environment.
  • CPP, PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar certification.
  • Experience with HRIS implementations, payroll system upgrades, or process improvement initiatives
