Job summary

PCBC is seeking a Payroll, Benefits & Bookkeeping Administrator to join the Operations team in Dallas. The role handles payroll processing, benefits enrollment, and basic bookkeeping with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.

You will work closely with Finance and HR, maintaining records, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting audits while assisting staff with payroll and benefit questions. This is a full-time on-site position in Dallas.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s (or Associate’s) degree preferred in accounting, business, HR, or related field.
  • 3+ years in payroll, bookkeeping, benefits, or related admin role.
  • Knowledge of payroll processes, deductions, and reporting.
  • Experience with payroll/accounting systems (ADP preferred).
  • Knowledge of employee benefits administration and payroll regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Process semi-monthly payroll for all staff accurately and on time.
  • Maintain payroll records, deductions, and adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws (FLSA).
  • Administer benefits enrollment, changes, and inquiries; coordinate with vendors.
  • Process and reconcile donations or contributions and assist with AP tasks.
  • Provide confidential payroll, benefits, and leave support to staff; communicate clearly.

Job Description

This role serves as a vital member of the Operations team, responsible for the accurate and timely administration of payroll and employee benefits, while also providing bookkeeping support through the processing and reconciliation of financial contributions and other financial transactions. The position requires a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail, while providing responsive support to staff and stewarding church resources with integrity and excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Payroll Administration
  • Prepare and processsemi-monthlypayroll for all church employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
  • Maintain payroll records, deductions, and adjustments in ADP (or current payroll system).
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage/hour laws, including Department of Labor (FLSA) guidelines.
  • Provide payroll reports and analysis as needed for Finance and HR leadership.
Benefits Administration
  • Assistemployees with enrollment, changes, and questionsregardingbenefits.
  • Partner with vendors (e.g., Guidestone, insurance carriers) to resolve issues and ensureaccuratebenefit records.
  • Oversee annual open enrollment, coordinating communication and system updates.
  • Track eligibility, coverage, and changes for new hires, terminations, and life events.
Compliance & Reporting
  • Ensure accuracy in tax filings, W-2s, 1095-Cs, and other payroll/benefit compliance documents.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment, payroll, and benefits regulations.
  • Support HR and Finance audits, providing payroll/benefit documentation as requested.
Financial Contributions & Cash Management
  • Process and reconcile incoming cash, checks, and electronic donations, ensuring compliance with financial policies.
  • Maintainaccuraterecords of financial contributions and donor transactions.
  • Prepare and distribute donor acknowledgment letters, statements, and receipts.
  • Assistthe finance team with accounts payable tasks and financial documentation.
  • Ensure proper documentation and tracking of financial transactions, collaborating with the finance team as needed.
Employee Service & Communication
  • Provide prompt, confidential, and clear support to staffregardingpay, benefits, and leave policies.
  • Communicate benefit options and payroll processes in ways that are clear, compassionate, and aligned with PCBC values.
  • Assistwith onboarding new employees and exiting staff transitionsregardingbenefits and payroll.
QUALIFICATIONS & ROLE REQUIREMENTS
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting , Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in payroll, bookkeeping, accounting, benefits administration, or a related administrative role preferred.
  • Working knowledge of payroll processes, including payroll deductions, tax withholdings, and payroll reporting.
  • Experience with payroll and accounting systems; ADP experience preferred.
  • General knowledge of employeebenefitsadministration and applicable payroll and employment regulationspreferred.
  • Strong numerical aptitude witha high levelof accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential employee, payroll, donor, and financial information with discretion and integrity.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to providing responsive and professional service to staff and church members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of the Operations team and support the overall mission and ministry of PCBC.
