Job summary

The MSPCA-Angell Careers is seeking a Payroll Associate to join a hybrid team and support partial-year operations in a robust 24/7 environment. You will work with the Payroll Manager to process payroll for 600+ staff and assist with exempt staff, rate changes, and incentive pay.

Responsibilities include 941 tax filings, year-end W-2s, and monthly visa card documentation. A strong focus on accuracy and collaboration with HR is essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a large organization.
• Experience with a 24/7 environment or shift differentials is a plus.
• Experience with UKG or other payroll/timekeeping software is ideal.

• Process bi-weekly non-exempt payroll for 600+ staff through the payroll system.
• Cross train with the Payroll Manager to learn payroll process for 250+ exempt staff.
• Review pay-rate changes and update payroll software accordingly.
• Process regular shift-differentials and other incentive pay for bi-weekly payroll.
• Prepare IRS information including 941s and year-end W-2 forms with Payroll Manager.
• Gather documentation for monthly visa credit card processing.

Job description

This is a full time, 32 hours a week, salaried position, general hours day Monday-Wednesday and Fridays, Hybrid

The Position:

The Payroll Associate will work closely with the Payroll Manager to process the 850+ payroll for the MSPCA-Angell. Will develop relationships with the HR team to assist in reviewing and administering regular payroll changes and staffing updates. The MSPCA-Angell operates two 24/7 animal hospitals (as well as 5 shelters and 4 clinics). Experience with shift differentials, a 24/7 environment and multi-state employees is a plus. This person will also work the Payroll Manager to review and process the corporate credit cards statements on a monthly basis. Strong written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to problem solve are needed for this role.

Some Duties to include:

• Process bi-weekly non-exempt payroll for 600+ staff through the payroll system.
• Cross train with the Payroll Manager to learn payroll process for 250+ exempt staff.
• Work closely with HR staff to review pay-rate changes and follow-up/update payroll software accordingly.
• Work with service directors and managers to process regular shift-differentials and other incentive pay for bi-weekly payroll
• Prepare and verify all IRS required information including quarterly tax returns (941) and year-end W-2 forms with Payroll Manager.
• Gather and put together documentation submitted by staff for monthly visa credit card processing.

Compensation:

This is a salaried position starting at $50-60k a year. Adjusted for a 32hr/week schedule.

Please note that candidates with additional experience or credentials may be eligible for compensation aligned with their qualifications.

Experience: 2+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a large organization (500+ employees). Experience with a 24/7 environment or shift differentials, and hospital setting is a plus. Experience with UKG or other payroll/timekeeping software is ideal.
