Job summary

UNC Health Nash is seeking a detail-oriented payroll and accounts payable professional for a hybrid, full-time role based in Nash County, NC. You will manage payroll data, timekeeping, vendor invoices, and general ledger interactions while maintaining PHI and financial confidentiality.

The position emphasizes accuracy, customer service to staff and management, and collaboration within General Accounting. Requires 3+ years accounting experience focusing on payroll/AP and a related degree

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field or an Associate degree with 5+ years of payroll/AP experience.
• 3+ years of accounting experience with a focus on payroll and accounts payable.
• Strong knowledge of financial software and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Display expertise and efficiency in financial system applications with focus on payroll, time attendance, accounts payable and general ledger as well as Microsoft Office.
• Input payroll related data for payroll processing to maintain accuracy including earnings, deductions, taxes and timekeeping.
• Provide payroll related as well as time and attendance customer service to all employees and management.
• Serve as backup for payroll processing and reporting.
• Analyze and reconcile payroll related general ledger accounts monthly and support audit requirements.
• Review and process vendor invoices and check requests in an accurate and timely manner.
• Ensure proper coding, approvals, and compliance with company policies.
• Respond to inquiries from vendors and management.
• Resolve/research outstanding and received not invoiced balances.
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity of PHI and financial/payroll data.
• Maintain personnel records associated with payroll operations and relating reporting functions.
• Performs other duties as needed.

Bachelor's in accounting, finance or related field

Associates in accounting, finance or related field with 5+ years of payroll/accounts payable experience
