Michigan Milk Producers Association is seeking a detail-orientedPayroll and HRIS Administrator to manage the accurate and timely processing of payroll and ensure the effective operation of our HR Information System (HRIS). This role plays a key part in maintaining data integrity, ensuring compliance, and supporting system efficiency. The ideal candidate will collaborate with multiple departments to streamline payroll and HR processes and drive continuous improvement across HR systems.

The Michigan Milk Producers Association (MMPA), established in 1916, is a dairy farmer-owned and operated milk marketing cooperative and dairy processor. As the 10th largest dairy cooperative in the U.S., we proudly serve dairy farmers across Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Indiana. With a workforce of around 625 employees spread across four states, MMPA is deeply rooted in the dairy industry. We operate multiple facilities, including the Middlebury Cheese Company in Indiana, Superior Dairy in Ohio, and two SQF Level 3 dairy ingredient plants in Michigan. Our product lineup includes fluid milk, cheese, ultra-filtered milk, ice cream, butter, nonfat dry milk, cream, and condensed skim milk.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Process weekly & bi-weekly payroll for company locations, including, data entry, timekeeping, and calculation of wages, taxes & deductions.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, including changes in salary, benefits, tax withholding, and personal information.
  • Verify timekeeping records and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to hours worked.
  • Monitor and administer payroll processes in accordance with contract language and company policy, procedures, and practices.
  • Generate reports and analyze data from HRIS
  • Prepare and participate in payroll audits
  • Respond and resolve questions and concerns from employees and management.
  • Create and generate reports as needed.
  • Process employment verifications, wage garnishments, support orders, and other correspondence.
  • Maintain personnel, company and HR files and records.
  • Supports and participates in company activities and functions.
  • Perform duties, as assigned.

What We’re Looking For:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred. High School Diploma required.

Experience:

  • 3+ years related experience and/or training;
  • Strong understanding of payroll principles and procedures.
  • Proficient in HRIS and data management
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Up to date knowledge of HR, payroll processes, regulations and laws.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, a self-starter and take great initiative.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal, organizational, and planning/implementation skills.
  • Ability to research, analyze, and interpret varied data and information.
  • Ability to establish, maintain and develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with employees and management
