Qualifications

  • 3-5 years payroll and benefits administration experience.
  • Experience processing multi-state payroll.
  • Knowledge of state wage/hour laws and payroll tax regulations.
  • Experience with Paycor HRIS or similar.

Human Resources Payroll & Benefits Administrator

Location: Onsite - Findlay, OH

Findlay Tall Timbers Distribution Center is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Human Resources Payroll & Benefits Administrator to join our HR team. This role is responsible for the administration of multi-state payroll and employee benefits programs while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

The ideal candidate is a proactive professional with demonstrated experience processing multi-state payroll, managing employee benefits programs, and ensuring compliance with evolving federal, state, and local employment laws. This individual will thrive in a fast-paced environment, drive process improvements, and provide exceptional support to employees and business partners across multiple locations.

Duties
  • Payroll Administration
  • Process weekly and bi-weekly multi-state payroll accurately and on time.
  • Ensure accurate earnings, deductions, tax withholdings, and payroll adjustments.
  • Perform payroll reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Administer garnishments, levies, benefit deductions, and other payroll-related transactions.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure employee data integrity.
  • Coordinate year-end payroll activities, including W-2 and 1099 processing.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
  • Prepare payroll reports and summaries for leadership and finance teams.
  • Reconcile payroll data with accounting systems and support month-end close activities.
  • Monitor payroll legislation changes and implement process updates as needed.
  • Develop and maintain efficient payroll procedures and internal controls that improve accuracy and operational efficiency.
Benefits Administration
  • Administer employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), COBRA, FMLA, and voluntary benefits.
  • Manage employee enrollments, benefit changes, and terminations through multiple benefits platforms.
  • Ensure benefit deductions are accurately reflected in payroll.
  • Maintain compliance with ACA, HIPAA, ERISA, COBRA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Serve as a resource for employee benefit questions and communications.
  • Support open enrollment activities and benefits education initiatives.
  • Reconcile monthly carrier invoices and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist in the development of benefits-related policies, procedures, and training materials.
HR & Compliance Support
  • Support onboarding and offboarding activities related to payroll and benefits.
  • Partner with employees, managers, HR, and Finance teams across multiple locations.
  • Assist with workforce planning, budgeting, and forecasting initiatives.
  • Prepare and submit required compliance filings, including PCORI, COBRA notifications, NYPFL, and other applicable reporting.
  • Support internal and external audits related to payroll, benefits, and HR compliance.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of payroll and benefits administration experience, including hands-on multi-state payroll processing.
  • Demonstrated experience managing payroll across multiple states with a strong understanding of state-specific wage and hour laws, payroll tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll laws and tax regulations.
  • Experience with Paycor HRIS or a similar payroll platform.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional), PHR, or related certification.
  • Experience managing payroll and benefits in a multi-state, multi-location organization.
  • Familiarity with multi-state payroll and employment compliance
