Job summary

DrinkPAK II is hiring a payroll professional to manage bi-weekly payroll for ~450 employees and ensure tax compliance and accurate reporting. Based at our Philadelphia facility, you will liaise with HR and Accounting, resolve discrepancies, and support payroll initiatives in a fast-growing environment.

The ideal candidate brings 1–2 years of payroll experience (California exposure), Workday familiarity, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 1–2 years of California payroll processing or accounting experience.
• 6 months to 1 year of Workday Payroll, Time Tracking & Absence experience required.
• FPP designation preferred, but not required.
• Bilingual English & Spanish preferred.
• Must be comfortable working in an open workspace.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 450 employees.
• Review timecards daily for missing punches and notes to ensure timely payroll processing.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and reporting.
• Prepare and analyze payroll reports, presenting findings to Payroll Manager.
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries.
• Maintain payroll records and prepare reports on payroll activities for management review.
• Initiate Off-Cycle payments, as needed.
• Collaborate with HR and Accounting to ensure accurate payroll processing and reporting.
• Monitor changes and stay current on wage/hour, garnishments, 401(k) rules.
• Ensure timecards are approved by deadline and data entry in payroll system.
• Process and monitor garnishment orders; perform ad hoc projects.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position will be responsible for processing of company payroll and time and attendance. Analyze calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and company deductions.

LOCATION

The position is based at DrinkPAK's Beverage Manufacturing Facility in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

TYPE

Full Time; Salaried / Exempt

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 450 employees in Southern California
• Review timecards daily for missing punches, missing supervisor notes, tardies, missed shifts, etc. to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing every two weeks
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and reporting
• Prepare and analyze payroll reports, presenting findings to Payroll Manager
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries professionally and efficiently
• Maintain payroll records and prepare reports on payroll activities for management review
• Initiate Off-Cycle payments, as needed
• Collaborate with HR and Accounting departments to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing and financial reporting
• Monitor changes and remain current on legal, regulatory, or governmental requirements (wage & hour, garnishments, 401(k), etc.)
• Ensure employees and supervisors approve timecards by the deadline each pay period to ensure timely payroll processing
• Ensure accurate data entry in payroll system
• Process and monitor garnishment orders
• Perform ad hoc assignments and special projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
• Atleast 1-2 years of experience in California payroll processing or accounting roles
• Atleast 6 months to 1 year of experience in Workday Payroll, Time Tracking & Absence required
• Fundamental Payroll Professional (FPP) designation is preferred, but not required
• Bilingual (English & Spanish) is preferred
• Must be comfortable working in an open workspace / bullpen
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Well-organized, detail-oriented, and strong ability to multi-task
• Knowledge of IRS and various state regulations regarding payroll and accounting reconciliations/auditing techniques preferred
• Ability to meet deadlines & maintains a "right the first-time" mentality
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel software applications
