Position Summary
- We are seeking a Payroll Analyst to join our organization's payroll team.
- The ideal candidate will handle various payroll functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing for North America, while supporting compliance with relevant regulations and internal controls.
- This role offers an opportunity to work within a structured environment, supporting internal and external payroll activities and participating in audit processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform payroll duties including managing time and attendance records, processing payroll for the US and Canadian regions, and overseeing benefits programs such as Deferred Compensation and Employee Stock Purchase Plans (ESPP).
- Provide customer service and support using the organization's ticketing system, including troubleshooting and responding to payroll inquiries.
- Support the payroll process by preparing input for payroll vendors and ensuring seamless data uploads and interfaces between payroll systems and third-party providers.
- Assist with multi-state taxation support, payroll tax filings, and compliance with government regulations.
- Support internal and external audit requests related to payroll, including SOX and internal audit procedures.
- Collaborate with external departments to ensure proper processing of external payroll items, such as onboarding/offboarding, benefits, commissions, stock, and compensation.
- Backup payroll support responsibilities for the payroll team as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Education or equivalent relevant experience; higher education credentials are preferred.
- Solid knowledge of local taxation and employment regulations in the US and Canada.
- Demonstrated senior-level payroll technical skills across areas including payroll processing, reporting, account reconciliations, stock reporting, and SOX controls.
- Experience preparing input for payroll vendors and supporting payroll data interfaces.
- Proficiency with payroll platforms and related systems and banking platforms.
- Ability to process payroll accurately and timely for the Americas, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, government regulations, and SOX.
- Experience with payroll systems such as ADP Vantage US, ADP Workforce Now (WFN) Canada, and familiarity with 401(k), ESPP, and equity plans.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with payroll processing for multi-state taxation and compliance with payroll tax requirements.
- Ability to support audit processes from SOX and internal audit teams.
- Proficiency in preparing and supporting various external payroll activities, including onboarding, offboarding, and expense processing.
- Knowledge of compliance standards and internal governance frameworks related to payroll.
