Job summary

Novonesis is seeking a Payroll Administrator to ensure accurate, compliant payroll operations across North America and to support multi-state and multi-country processes. You will maintain payroll systems, drive enhancements, and collaborate with Finance, HR, and Payroll to pay employees accurately and on time.

You will lead system configurations, reconciliations, and annual payroll projects while upholding confidentiality and data integrity. This hybrid role offers growth and impactful work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred, with at least five years of payroll processing experience in a medium-sized organization.
  • In lieu of a degree, ten years of progressive hands-on payroll processing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processing, accounting, and compliance requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Word.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong customer service mindset with a commitment to supporting employees and stakeholders effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain payroll systems and interfaces, including Ceridian Dayforce, Time & Attendance, and HRDE platforms.
  • Ensure data accuracy across payroll and connected systems.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll issues with cross-functional collaboration.
  • Serve as the functional expert for payroll accounting, compliance, and payroll-related controls.
  • Review system configurations and payroll processes to identify enhancement opportunities.
  • Coordinate payroll exception processing, reconciliations, and accounting activities.
  • Lead and support annual payroll projects (e.g., workers' compensation, 401(k), QMS audits).
  • Participate in strategic initiatives such as acquisitions, tax-related projects, and payroll system implementations.
  • Safeguard confidential payroll information and maintain confidentiality standards.
  • Support continuous improvement and operational excellence across payroll functions.
