Job summary

  • Experience administering international payrolls in Europe and Asia-Pacific preferred.

BBAM is a leading player in commercial aircraft leasing, financing and management providing over 200 airline customers in more than 50 countries with fleet and financing solutions over its 30+ year history. In addition, BBAM provides asset management services to leasing companies, aviation investors and financial institutions covering more than 500 aircraft valued in excess of $18 billion and is registered with the SEC as a Registered Investment Advisor. BBAM is a full-service lessor and maintains its own in-house capabilities encompassing aircraft origination, disposition, lease marketing, technical maintenance, regulatory compliance, capital markets activity, tax structuring, legal, contracts, and finance, for all asset types and strategies.

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for supporting the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of payroll for employees across multiple countries and jurisdictions. Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager/Payroll Manager, this position administers day-to-day payroll activities, maintains payroll records, coordinates with external payroll providers, and assists with payroll compliance, reporting, and employee inquiries. The role works closely with Human Resources, Finance, and third-party vendors to ensure efficient payroll operations and a positive employee experience while supporting the organization's global payroll strategy.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

This position reports to the Senior Accounting Manager/ Payroll Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Global Payroll Administration
  • Support end-to-end payroll processing for employees in the United States, Ireland, Singapore, Switzerland, Japan, South Korea, and other jurisdictions as assigned.
  • Coordinate payroll inputs and payroll processing activities with external payroll providers, employer-of-record partners, and in-country vendors.
  • Prepare and post payroll-related journal entries to the general ledger, including wages, bonuses, commissions, employer taxes, benefit costs, equity compensation, and other payroll-related accruals.
  • Reconcile payroll registers to the general ledger on a monthly basis and investigate and resolve any variances in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and maintain payroll balance sheet account reconciliations, including accrued payroll, payroll tax liabilities, bonus accruals, vacation accruals, and benefit-related accounts.
  • Review and process employee compensation changes, new hires, terminations, bonus payments, commissions, allowances, and other payroll transactions.
  • Review payroll funding requirements and assist with payroll cash reconciliation activities.
  • Reconcile payroll tax filings, benefit invoices, retirement plan contributions, and other payroll-related vendor payments to accounting records.
  • Validate payroll reports and audit payroll data for accuracy prior to payroll approval and release.
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain payroll records, employee earnings histories, tax information, and supporting documentation.
  • Review employee holiday and vacation time and follow up as needed to maintain accurate vacation balances.
  • Support year-end payroll activities, including tax reporting, annual reconciliations, bonus process, and employee tax forms.
Compliance and Reporting
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes by providing payroll reports, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Ensure payroll processes comply with applicable federal, state, and international payroll regulations and statutory requirements.
  • Assist with payroll audits and provide documentation to internal and external auditors.
  • Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and analyses for Human Resources, Finance, and management.
  • Monitor payroll deadlines and regulatory changes affecting payroll administration.
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls, privacy requirements, and data security standards.
Benefits and Employee Support
  • Coordinate payroll-related benefit deductions and ensure accurate integration of benefits data into payroll systems.
  • Assist employees with payroll-related inquiries regarding pay, deductions, tax withholding, direct deposits, and statutory payments.
  • Support benefit enrollment and payroll deduction updates during open enrollment and qualifying life events.
  • Work with benefit providers and payroll vendors to resolve payroll and benefits discrepancies.
Vendor and System Administration
  • Maintain relationships with payroll service providers and assist with issue resolution and service delivery monitoring.
  • Support payroll system updates, testing, implementations, and process improvements.
  • Assist with maintaining employee data integrity between HRIS, payroll, timekeeping, and benefits platforms.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll efficiency, accuracy, and employee service levels.
QUALIFICATIONS

Required Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional), CEBS, GBA, CBP, or similar professional certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible payroll experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing multi-state U.S. payroll.
  • Experience administering international payrolls in Europe and Asia-Pacific jurisdictions preferred.
  • Experience working with PEOs, leased employees, employer-of-record arrangements, and independent contractor payment processes preferred.
  • Experience supporting payroll and benefits audits and regulatory compliance reviews.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience with ADP, Workday, Rippling or similar global payroll platforms.
  • Experience supporting organizations with internationally distributed workforces.
  • Experience with equity compensation and executive payroll administration.
  • Knowledge of global mobility and expatriate payroll practices.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll regulations, wage and hour requirements, payroll taxation, and benefit plan administration.
  • Working knowledge of international payroll and benefits practices, including statutory leave, social insurance, pension, and tax reporting requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines across several countries and time zones.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while partnering effectively with HR, Finance, Accounting, Legal, and external vendors.
