Job summary

TrulyHired is seeking a Payroll Administrative Assistant II to provide administrative and technical support to the Payroll Department. You will handle payroll-related data entry, records maintenance, employment verification processing, spreadsheet management, and responsive customer service.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of payroll and personnel information.
  • Proficient in data entry.
  • Congenial telephone etiquette.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality of payroll, personnel, and employee information in accordance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Enter and maintain payroll-related data in payroll and human resource information systems.
  • Review payroll data for completeness and accuracy and report discrepancies to payroll staff.
  • Prepare, maintain, and update Excel spreadsheets used for payroll processing, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Process employment verification requests in accordance with established procedures and confidentiality requirements.
  • Respond to routine employee and district inquiries regarding payroll information and refer complex matters to payroll staff.
  • Support payroll processing activities by gathering, verifying, and entering data within established deadlines.
  • Provide customer service to employees and districts via telephone, email, and in-person communications.
  • Support substitute payroll processes, including sub pulls and related reporting.
  • Monitor shared payroll email accounts and distribute inquiries to appropriate staff as needed.
  • Assist with special payroll & benefit projects, audits, reporting requirements, and year-end activities.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Sr. Payroll Supervisor/Treasurer/Assistant Treasurer

Note: This assignment may require a valid driver's license and access/availability of a reliable vehicle. Employees must meet all prerequisite and ongoing qualifications to be covered by the service center's insurance carrier.

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Sr. Payroll Supervisor

Location: Onsite (not a remote position)

Salary Range: $47,356-$56,329

Job Objectives

Provide administrative and technical support to the Payroll Department through payroll-related data entry, records maintenance, employment verification processing, spreadsheet management, customer service, and other support functions that contribute to accurate and timely payroll operations.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Working Conditions

Performance Evaluations

Job performance is evaluated according to the policy provisions adopted by the Governing Board of the EDUCATIONAL SERVICE CENTER OF CENTRAL OHIO.
