Job summary

Long Island Select Healthcare, Inc. is seeking an Accountant to support the Finance department with general accounting functions, including payroll and accounts payable.

Responsibilities include bi-weekly payroll processing with HR, preparing payroll entries, coordinating time sheets, providing reports, handling disability payment reports, processing accounts payable weekly, invoice entry, payments, and journal entries, and performing other general accounting tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited institution.
• Two years of experience in the health care environment is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports.

Responsibilities

• Support Finance with general accounting functions including payroll and accounts payable.
• Work with Accounting Manager and HR on bi-weekly payroll processing.
• Prepare payroll entries for the accounting system and coordinate time sheets.
• Provide payroll activity reports as directed by the Accounting Manager.
• Prepare required disability payment reports.
• Process accounts payable weekly and approve priority invoices.
• Enter invoices and process payments per weekly disbursements protocol.
• Prepare AP activity reports and perform journal entries for expenses.
• Conduct research on payors and account histories as needed.
• Perform other general accounting functions.
