Job summary

Manzana Products Co. is seeking a Payroll & Accounting Specialist to support payroll and accounting at Sunnyside and its California facility. The role blends hands-on payroll processing with account reconciliations, month-end support, reporting, and internal controls.

Ideal candidates have prior accounting experience in manufacturing or food production. Strong Excel skills and experience with payroll systems are required; UKG or Dynamics 365 is a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
• Payroll processing and general accounting experience in industrial/manufacturing environments preferred.
• Proficient with month-end support, reconciliations, and payroll controls.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately for Sunnyside & CA plant employees, including timekeeping, overtime, deductions, and changes.
• Coordinate payroll with HR and plant supervisors; investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare month-end payroll journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules.

Job Summary

Manzana Products Co. is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & Accounting Specialist to support payroll and accounting activities at its Sunnyside and California food production facility. The role combines hands-on payroll processing with account reconciliations, month-end support, recurring reporting, and payroll-related internal controls. The ideal candidate has prior accounting experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or food production environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and on time for employees at the Sunnyside and California plant, including review of timekeeping, overtime, shift premiums, paid leave, deductions, and payroll changes.
• Coordinate payroll information with Human Resources and plant supervisors; investigate and resolve payroll or timekeeping discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end close preparation, including payroll journal entries, accruals, supporting schedules, and documentation.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations of payroll, benefits, tax, accrual, and other assigned general ledger accounts; follow discrepancies through resolution.
• Produce regular payroll reports, including labor cost, overtime, headcount, payroll accuracy, and other management reporting.
• Maintain and document payroll-related internal controls, approvals, reconciliations, and audit support.
• Maintain confidential payroll records and support compliance with company policies and applicable payroll requirements.
• Provide additional accounting support and participate in process-improvement projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
• Previous payroll processing and general accounting experience; experience in an industrial company, manufacturing environment, or food production business is strongly preferred.
• Practical experience with month-end support and account reconciliations.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with payroll and ERP/accounting systems; UKG or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience is a plus.

Skills:

• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Finance, Human Resources, supervisors, and employees.
• Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, organization, and the ability to meet recurring deadlines.
