Ampcus Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Payments Java AWS Developer to support enterprise-scale payment processing platforms serving critical financial transactions. This position is ideal for a senior technology professional with deep expertise in payments systems, cloud-native application development, and leadership experience managing distributed engineering teams.

Detailed Job Description

As a Payments Java AWS Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing mission-critical payment processing applications within a modern cloud environment. You will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to deliver high-performance, scalable, and secure payment solutions. The role requires extensive experience in payment ecosystems including ACH, credit card processing, tokenization, and transaction lifecycle management. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across onsite and offshore teams while contributing to architecture design, development standards, and Agile delivery practices. Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade payment processing applications using Java technologies.
  • Lead the implementation of solutions supporting ACH payments, card transactions, tokenization, and related payment services.
  • Architect scalable and secure cloud-native applications leveraging AWS services.
  • Develop and optimize batch processing solutions using Spring Batch.
  • Collaborate with business, product, and technology teams to define technical requirements and solution designs.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to onsite and offshore development teams.
  • Create and maintain architecture documentation, technical specifications, and solution blueprints.
  • Design and optimize PostgreSQL database solutions for high-volume transaction processing.
  • Ensure application security, performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis for complex application challenges.
  • Drive best practices across software development, cloud engineering, and DevOps processes.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of overall IT experience with at least 10+ years in payments processing and cards technology.
  • Strong domain experience in Payments, ACH, Credit Cards, Tokenization, and transaction processing platforms.
  • Advanced proficiency in Java application development.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Spring Batch.
  • Experience developing and deploying applications on AWS cloud platforms.
  • Strong expertise in PostgreSQL database design, development, and performance tuning.
  • Proven experience leading distributed onsite-offshore development teams.
  • Experience creating architecture documents and technical solution designs.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
  • Experience working in Agile and Scrum environments.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.
