JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking an Associate in Payments Industry Advocacy to shape our firmwide advocacy strategy for Payments, build relationships across the organization, and prepare products to go to market.

You will support the development and execution of advocacy strategies to engage policymakers and regulators, contributing JPM Payments’ expertise to evolving industry and public policy trends. The team aims to influence product owners and stakeholders on emerging trends and regulatory

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in Government Relations, Policy, Product, or PM.
  • Knowledge of risk management and governance requirements.
  • Strong MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Solid understanding of the payments landscape and regulatory environment.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Research market trends, pricing, and client behavior to identify opportunities for product improvements.
  • Assist in developing collateral tailored to specific markets.
  • Follow regulatory testing procedures to confirm compliance prior to release.
  • Support development of the product’s risk and compliance model.
  • Identify inefficiencies in regulatory testing processes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Legal, Risk, Compliance Operations, and Technology stakeholders.
  • Draft briefing memos and strategic presentations to convey JPM Payments insights and point of view.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and clients to translate insights into advocacy positions and engagement strategies.

Be the catalyst for expansion as you pioneer product growth and dive deep into market trends, shape offerings, and ensure compliance.

As an Associate in Payments Industry Advocacy, you will help shape our point of view and the firmwide advocacy strategy for Payments. You work across the organization, build critical relationships, and prepare the products to go to market. You will also support the development and execution of advocacy strategies to engage with policymakers and regulators, contributing JPMorgan Payments’ expertise to evolving industry and regulatory frameworks.

JPMorgan Payments actively participates in and leads a significant change agenda through our Payments Industry Advocacyteam.The objective of the team is to influence and advise Payments product ownersand Firmwide stakeholders on emerging global payments industry and public policy trends, as well as related and product opportunities.

Job responsibilities
  • Researches and analyzes market trends, competitor pricing strategies, and client behavior to identify opportunities for product improvements
  • Assists in the development of collateral tailored to specific markets
  • Understands and follows the defined regulatory testing procedures to confirm our products meet regulatory requirements prior to release
  • Follows and assists with the development of the product’s risk and compliance model
  • Identifies inefficiencies in regulatory testing processes
  • Builds and maintains working relationships with stakeholders across distinct functions including Legal, Risk, Compliance Operations, and Technology
  • Draft briefing memos and strategic presentations to effectively convey JPM Payments insights and point of view for internal and external audiences
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and clients to understand challenges, regulatory priorities, and operational realities; translate insights into advocacy positions, messaging, and engagement strategies
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • 2+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in Government Relations and Policy, Product, Technology, or Project Management
  • Emerging knowledge of risk management and controls, regional and local nuances, and governance requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong understanding of the payments landscape, business models, and regulatory environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze opportunities and challenges, recommend solutions, and communicate effectively (both verbal and written)
  • Working knowledge of public policy and regulatory change, including regional and local nuances
  • Experience in developing advocacy positions, messaging, and engagement strategies
  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Experience in consulting and strategy, with ability to contribute to successful strategy recommendations for financial services companies
  • Experience engaging with policymakers, industry associations, standards bodies, and public consultations
