Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Principal Associate to define and implement enterprise payments governance and oversight. This role sits in the Enterprise Payments Governance and Oversight team within Retail Bank and interfaces with Executives to shape strategy and initiatives across RTP, ACH, checks, and wire.

You will lead risk management design, implement scalable frameworks, and bridge 1st/2nd Line duties, ensuring robust, compliant payment risk procedures enterprise-wide.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or Military Experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in risk management, audit, or governance and oversight roles.
• At least 4 years experience in the banking or financial services industry.
• At least 2 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Revolutionize Oversight: enable proactive risk identification and trends with 1st/2nd line of defense.
• Drive Digital Transformation: use Gen AI and automation to improve risk monitoring.
• Be the Payments Expert: define risk frameworks for RTP, ACH, and wire.
• Lead Integration: partner with 2nd Line to embed risk activities in 1st Line workflows.
• Strategic Documentation: maintain inventory of processes for ERM.
• Process Uplift: lead projects to improve compliance with enterprise policy.
