Responsibilities

  • Perform compliance monitoring and testing reviews covering consumer payment products, services, processes, and controls.
  • Complete transaction testing and broader control assessments to identify potential regulatory weaknesses, violations, or emerging compliance risks.
  • Prepare accurate testing documentation, workpapers, and supporting evidence that clearly demonstrate procedures performed and conclusions reached.
  • Assist with scoping and planning assigned reviews and executing testing according to the annual compliance review schedule.
  • Evaluate business practices against applicable regulatory requirements and regulatory examination guidance.
  • Identify exceptions and control deficiencies, document the supporting facts, and elevate potential concerns to senior members of the testing team.
  • Contribute to written findings and review reports, including recommendations that support effective corrective action.
  • Track identified matters through the organization’s issue-management and remediation process.
  • Maintain clear communication with testing leadership regarding review status, findings, questions, and potential regulatory concerns.
  • Partner as needed with Compliance, Legal, Payments, business stakeholders, and management throughout the review process.
  • Stay current on regulatory developments affecting consumer payments and incorporate relevant changes into testing activities.

Job description

Join a financial services compliance team responsible for evaluating regulatory controls within a consumer payments business. This role supports ongoing monitoring and testing designed to identify compliance gaps, assess the effectiveness of controls, and help ensure payment products and services meet applicable federal and state requirements.

Regulatory Knowledge

Candidates should have working knowledge of consumer financial services and payments regulations. Relevant areas may include:

  • Electronic Fund Transfer Act and Regulation E
  • Consumer privacy requirements, including the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and Regulation P
  • Truth in Savings Act and Regulation DD
  • Federal and state privacy requirements
  • UDAAP/UDAP standards
  • Third-party risk management expectations
  • Consumer compliance guidance and examination standards issued by federal banking and consumer protection regulators
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • Approximately 1–3 years of experience in compliance monitoring, compliance testing, regulatory compliance, or audit within banking or financial services; candidates with 5+ years of closely related experience may also qualify based on their overall background.
  • Experience supporting test planning, executing testing procedures, completing workpapers, and identifying or documenting compliance issues.
  • Familiarity with regulations and risks associated with payment products or programs.
  • Ability to analyze processes, transactions, documentation, and controls and reach well-supported conclusions.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to document testing results and potential compliance concerns clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and data accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
  • Comfortable collaborating with colleagues and communicating with stakeholders across different levels of an organization.
