Job summary

United Surgical Partners International in Annapolis, MD, is seeking a detail-focused Patient Accounting Clerk to manage daily posting of payments and adjustments, balance deposits, and close batches accurately.

The role requires strong numerical accuracy, proficiency with EMR and MS Office, and adherence to privacy and safety policies; prior EFT cash posting experience is a plus, with a high school diploma or GED and 2 years of related experience preferred.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Two years of patient account billing or payment posting experience preferred.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook.
Must maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Process credit card transactions.
Posts all responsible payments and adjustments to the specified patient account in accordance with current policy and procedure.
Ensures accuracy of posting by balancing deposit totals to system-generated reports.
Properly close all assigned batches in a timely manner.
Responsible for manual cash posting.
Maintains daily logs and reconciliation.
Works with supervision, management and the patient accounting staff to improve processes, increase accuracy, create efficiencies, and achieve the overall goals of the department.
Respect and maintain confidentiality.
Work in a safe, compliant, and ethical manner always.
Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
