Varо is seeking a Payment Operations Analyst to manage primary payment channels and drive scalable operational solutions for the bank. You will monitor ACH activity, postings, reconciliations, wires, and vendor relationships while ensuring accuracy and timeliness of transactions.

You will support the Core Banking integrations, collaborate with teams on system upgrades, and mentor teammates to maintain high standards of compliance and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in financial services related to payments and/or treasury operations.
• Strong knowledge of bank policy, procedures, products and Reg E.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Able to adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Experience solving problems and improving processes.
• Maintain confidentiality of bank, customer and employee data.
• Bachelor’s degree in treasury operations or equivalent experience.
• AAP/CTP certification is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Monitor ACH activity: originations, receipts, processing and reconciliation.

• Process and reconcile incoming/outgoing wire transfers.

• Notify other financial institutions and internal teams for corrections.
• Maintain files to limit bank liability and ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with Core Banking system testing during upgrades.
• Assist in onboarding, training, and mentoring teammates.
• Review and approve ACH entries and wire transfers.
• Review contractor/offshore work and provide second-level support.

About the Role

As a Payment Operations Analyst, your task is to manage the primary payment channels for Varo Bank. A successful analyst will be responsible for the developing, implementing and managing scalable operational solutions to put Varo Bank in a position to succeed. Aspects of the payment operations function focusing on the timely and accurate record keeping of Varo Bank accounts through monitoring and reconciliation of monetary transaction activity and the identification and remediation of transaction-driven customer issues.

How you'll make an impact

• Responsible for monitoring file origination, receiving, processing and reconciling ACH activity

• Ensuring accurate and timely posting to internal accounts.

• Validate and balance ACH posting to the Federal Reserve account.

• Responsible for processing, screening and reconciling incoming and outgoing wire transfers.

• Responsible for processing and reconciling multiple vendor partners and correspondent banks.

• Monitoring cash balances and reconciling each day's cash position.

• Provides ad hoc reporting and analysis as required and monitor ACH risk

• Provides written/verbal notification to other financial institutions, third party service providers and internal departments for correction and reversal of entries.

• Establishes and maintains files ensuring proper handling in order to limit bank liability.

• Partner with Varo teams ensuring customer accounts and associated processes impacted by system enhancements, upgrades, and/or updates are tested with the Core Banking system.

• Assists the Manager in onboarding, training, and mentoring teammates

• Assists in reviewing and approving ACH entries and Wire transfers

• Review and approve work completed by contractors and offshore teams

• Provides second level support to teammates and and other Varo teams in researching and answering questions

• Other duties as assigned.

The skills and experiences you'll bring

• Five+ (5) years of experience in the financial services industry either in payment processing (ACH/Wires/Card) and/or treasury management functions.

• Extensive knowledge and understanding of bank policy, procedure, products and regulations, compliance (Reg E), and payment types.

• Must be detail-oriented, with strong organizational/implementation skills.

• Ability to adapt to fast-pace and rapid changes.

• Ability to multi-task and handle unexpected delays or events while maintaining constant attention to details.

• Ability to work well independently.

• Must be able to resolve problems and improve processes quickly, effectively and professionally.

• Maintain the highest level of confidentiality with information relating to the bank, its customers, and employees

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a treasury operations environment .

• AAP/CTP certification a plus

For cash compensation, we set standard ranges for all US-based roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors as well as candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the identified range.
