Job summary

Recourse is hiring an Analyst, Payer Strategy in San Francisco to transform payer behavior data into winning offers. In office, full-time, you will own the analytics layer underlying our payer strategy and work closely with engineering to translate insights into the product.

You will analyze disputes, build payer profiles, and run loss analyses to push for optimal outcomes. The role blends SQL, Python/R, and AI tools in a fast-moving, data-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in analytics, data science, strategy, or similar.
• Strong SQL. You pull your own data.
• Comfort with Python or R for analyses beyond SQL.
• Healthcare data experience is a strong plus: claims, EOBs, CPT coding.
• Hands-on fluency with AI tooling to accelerate work.
• Clear written communication; can influence decisions with analysis.
• Preference for small teams and fast-moving environments.

Responsibilities

• Analyze outcomes across disputes: win rate, offer multiple, recovery, time to resolution.
• Build payer profiles explaining insurer behavior and where to push.
• Run loss analysis on disputed cases and derive actionable rules.
• Model offer strategy: what to submit, against which payer, and CPT context.
• Benchmark performance using CMS data and market comparisons.
• Collaborate with engineering to encode learnings into the product.
• Build dashboards and reporting used by the team.
• Write specs, SQL, and analyses that drive product decisions.
