Job summary

Abacus Insights is seeking a Payer Analytics Consultant to act as the dedicated data and analytics partner on client engagements for health-plan consulting services. You will deliver data models, dashboards, and analyses leveraging AI and automation to accelerate insights, while traveling to client sites as needed.

Ideal candidates have 7–10+ years in healthcare data analytics, strong SQL and BI skills, and a proven track record in client-facing analytics delivery within payer domains.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of consulting experience, including client-facing analytics delivery in healthcare payer practice
• 7-10+ years of hands-on healthcare data analytics in payer, TPA, or vendor setting
• Hypothesis-driven analysis, structured problem solving, and executive-ready storytelling
• Strong SQL and BI skills with production dashboards (Power BI/Tableau)
• Experience analyzing claims, provider performance, or payment integrity data
• Excellent client-facing communication and presentation abilities
• Willingness to travel onsite to client locations

Responsibilities

• Own analytics workstream from scoping to delivery of findings
• Translate client questions into data models, reports, and analyses
• Travel to client sites to gather requirements and engage stakeholders
• Present findings to client stakeholders and steering committees
• Design data pipelines inside Snowflake or Databricks environments
• Produce presentation-ready outputs and leverage AI in analysis
