Job summary

Ruston Paving is seeking a skilled paving and grading laborer in North Carolina. The role involves physically demanding tasks on site, operating hand and power tools, and supporting asphalt, aggregate, and dirt paving operations as part of a safety‑minded team.

Employees earn $22.00–$31.00 per hour with benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with employer match, paid time off, and ESOP ownership.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in the preparation and construction of site work and paving projects.
• Hand shovel, rake, or lute asphalt, aggregate, and dirt into construction area while dispersing and leveling material to desired outcome.
• Assist in patching and compacting asphalt, aggregate, and dirt.
• Clean, sweep, excavate and fill holes, trenches and ditches using hand tools.
• Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials.
• Material handling including lifting, relocating, mixing/blending and application of construction materials and supplies.
• Maintain a clean jobsite and secure the site daily to eliminate hazards.
• Ensure proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
• All other duties as assigned.
