Job summary

Wiregrass is seeking an experienced Paving Equipment Operator to join our paving crew in Mobile, AL. The ideal candidate will operate asphalt paving equipment and contribute to high-quality, safe, and efficient projects.

You will operate pavers, screeds, rollers, and milling machines, perform daily inspections, and coordinate with foremen and drivers. A valid driver's license, ability to read grade stakes and project specs, and the drug screen/background check are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience operating asphalt paving equipment.
• Ability to read grade stakes and project specs.
• Valid driver's license; pass drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate asphalt paving equipment including paver, screed, roller, broom, and milling machine.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance or repair needs promptly.
• Maintain proper paving grade, slope, and mat quality per specs.
• Coordinate with foremen, truck drivers, and crew members for efficient paving operations.
• Assist with equipment setup, breakdown, and general job site preparation.
• Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Follow all safety policies and OSHA regulations.
