Job summary

ACCIONA is seeking a Project Engineer – Pavement to support field paving operations on the SR400 Express Lanes Project in Georgia. You will coordinate with superintendents, paving crews, plants, trucking, and MOT teams to ensure work meets grades and quality standards.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field, 3+ years of infrastructure experience, and proficiency with Primavera P6/Procore/Bluebeam/HCSS. Travel to field sites will be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• At least 3 years of field infrastructure/roadway/bridge construction experience preferred.
• Familiarity with GDOT projects and knowledge of AASHTO and FHWA standards is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to field offices and job sites as needed.
• Basic knowledge of cost tracking, budget monitoring, and field production documentation.
• Proficiency with construction software such as Primavera P6, Procore, Bluebeam, and HCSS.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and traffic control plans.
• Strong communication and coordination skills with field and office teams.

Responsibilities

• Support field paving operations and coordination with superintendents, foremen, and subcontractors.
• Review pavement plans, profiles, specifications, and construction sequencing.
• Assist with planning paving widths, lift thicknesses, joints, and truck requirements.
• Coordinate asphalt production and delivery to maintain consistent paving production.
• Track tonnage, quantities, cycles, and production rates for pavement.
• Verify roadway grades, elevations, and thickness during paving operations.
• Coordinate testing and quality requirements including compaction and density.
