Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems is seeking a Pavement Marking Technician II in the Hazleton, PA area. The role involves driving and operating pavement marking equipment for road construction and maintenance projects, ensuring precise markings and safety compliance.

The candidate should be able to work in various weather conditions, follow detailed instructions, and collaborate with contractors and team members to ensure project success. CDL Class B is preferred and must be obtained within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred; must obtain CDL Class B within 60 days.
• Background check and drug test per federal DOT requirements.
• Wear safety gear: boots with safety toe, hard hat, safety glasses, and safety vest.
• ATSSA Pavement Marking intermediate training if mandated by state.
• Knowledge of state/local roadways and ability to operate delivery vehicles of varying sizes.
• Ability to lift and move up to 70 pounds.
• Knowledge of safety procedures for securing and transporting cargo.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to place paint, thermoplastic, and other pavement markings.
• Prepare work areas, transport materials, and operate company trucks for job site logistics.
• Implement striping plans and perform layout, including intersection markings.
• Lift, carry, load, and unload construction items, including pavement marking supplies and signs.
• Use grinders to remove old lines and pavement markings; install and reset delineators, signs, posts, and supports.
• Install and remove temporary and permanent reflective tape and heat tape per specs.
• Maintain and operate all pavement marking equipment, including milling and grinding equipment.
• Perform shop work, including equipment maintenance and repair.
• Communicate with contractors, field inspectors, and supervise field personnel.
• Complete daily paperwork including logging yield conversions and verifying specifications.
• Follow safety rules and company policies.
