Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Mapleton, Illinois, is seeking a Patternmaker for the 2nd shift to support pattern construction and repair using conventional and CNC equipment. The role requires reading prints, tool maintenance, and capable CNC/CAD/CAM work.

You will work with PowerMill and PowerShape, and prior foundry or machining experience is a plus. This position offers full benefits and a shift differential.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of manufacturing experience and ability to read prints.
• Experience as CNC Programmer / Machinist desirable.
• Proficiency with CNC/CAD/CAM packages and G/M codes.
• PowerMill and PowerShape experience preferred.
• Foundry, machine shop or manufacturing background advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Operate conventional machines to pattern, cast or form materials.
• Construct and repair patterns using conventional and CNC equipment.
• Maintain and set up cutting tools; assist CNC machine centers as needed.
• Read and interpret prints and call outs; adapt to multiple machines.
