About This Role
Box Office (Tuesday-Friday, 12pm-5pm)
Ticket Sales & Reservations
- Sell single tickets and subscriptions via phone and ticket window
- Answer guest questions about shows, seating, accessibility accommodations
- Process ticket exchanges, refunds, and special requests
- Encourage renewals and season ticket purchases
- Maintain warm, professional communication in person and over the phone
Ticketing System Operations
- Use the Renaissance Theatre ticketing system efficiently and accurately
- Process transactions with attention to detail
- Generate reports and troubleshoot system issues (escalate as needed)
- Maintain ticket inventory and track sales
- Print and organize will-call tickets
Cash Handling
- Process cash, credit, and digital payments
- Balance drawer at end of shift
- Reconcile sales and prepare deposit
- Maintain accuracy and security in all transactions
Guest Services
- Create welcoming atmosphere for every patron
- Address guest concerns calmly and professionally
- Provide information about accessible seating, parking, concessions
- Build relationships with regular patrons and season subscribers
- Ensure every interaction reflects the Ren's values
Front of House (Show Nights)
When you are scheduled for weekend/show night shifts, you'll either work in the box office or rotate through FOH duties alongside our crew:
Concessions (When Assigned)
- Operate point-of-sale system
- Prepare popcorn, candy, and beverages
- Keep concessions clean and well-stocked
Guest Services/Lobby (When Assigned)
- Greet guests with warmth and enthusiasm
- Scan tickets and direct patrons to their seats
- Distribute programs and handle special requests
- Assist with accessibility accommodations
- Monitor lobby and ensure welcoming environment
Bar Support (When Applicable)
- Assist with beverage service (if trained and interested)
- Support bar operations and cash handling
- Ensure responsible service practices
General Theatre Operations
- Assist with opening and closing procedures
- Keep theatre spaces clean and guest-ready
- Monitor auditorium during performance
- Jump in to support other patrons or team members as needed
What We Need From You
Must-Haves:
- Background in customer service or hospitality — You know how to make people feel welcome and handle requests professionally
- Cash handling experience — Comfortable with money, detail-oriented, and trustworthy
- Computer skills — Proficiency in Google suite; ability to learn new ticketing software quickly
- Availability for core hours — Tuesday-Friday, 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm (non-negotiable)
- Flexibility for show nights — Available to work evening and weekend shifts during productions
- Friendly, professional demeanor — Warm on the phone and in person; calm under pressure
- Professional attire, pleasant appearance — You show up looking professional and easily approachable by patrons
- Reliable and punctual — You show up when scheduled; patrons and the team count on you
- Cooperative mindset — You work well with the Patron Services Manager and FOH crew; open to feedback
Nice-to-Haves:
- Theatre or arts experience (but not required)
- Ticketing system or software experience
- Interest in FOH operations or guest service training
- Passion for live performance and community
