Job summary

Waukesha County is seeking six temporary Patrol Worker positions for the late-Fall 2024 to late-Winter 2025 season. Work includes maintenance and repair of highways, snow removal, and de-icing operations. A Class B CDL is required at application, with Class A CDL and air brake endorsement within six months.

Typical hours are second shift, 7:00 pm to 3:00 am, Monday through Friday; onboarding may start on a first shift for training. Physical/medical confirmations and background checks apply.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Class B CDL required; Class A with air brake endorsement within six months of hire.
  • Experience in maintenance/repair of roads is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repair of highways, roads, bridges and right-of-ways, including snow removal and de-icing operations.
  • Operate a variety of trucks and equipment necessary for maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Respond to emergency situations and work under variable weather conditions.

SALARY RANGE$27.49 - $38.19WORK ASSIGNMENT DETAILSWaukesha County's Department of Public Works is seeking to fill 6 temporary Patrol Worker positions for the late-Fall 2024 to late-Winter 2025 season.As a temporary Patrol Worker, you will perform work involving maintenance and repair of highways, roads, bridges, and right-of-ways, including snow removal and de-icing operations. You may be called upon at any time to respond to emergency situations such as: snowstorms, windstorms, and must have the ability to:perform moderate to heavy manual labor for extended periods under variable weather conditions;operate a variety of trucks and equipment necessary for the maintenance and repair of roads and right-of-ways; and,effectively interact with sensitivity with persons from diverse cultural, cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, ethnic, and professional backgrounds, and persons of all ages and lifestyles.A Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required upon application; Class A CDL preferred.Typical work hours: second shift, 7:00 pm to 3:00 am, Monday - Friday.
