Job summary

Aspen Skiing Company is seeking an Assistant Patrol Director for Aspen Mountain to support the Patrol Director in managing patrol operations for a safe, engaging ski area during the Winter 2026-27 season.

The role requires extensive Ski Patrol experience, EMT/OEC certifications, and strong leadership to maintain safety standards, train staff, and coordinate with other departments. The position offers a competitive annual salary and bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• OEC or EMT certification required, along with CPR certification.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a ski patroller.
• Minimum of 5 years of expert-level skiing experience across all terrain and weather conditions.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience setting up and maintaining remote weather stations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily mountain operations in coordination with supervisors and leads.
• Identify opportunities to enhance guest experience and proactively engage guests on the mountain.
• Inspect terrain to ensure safety standards before and during operating hours.
• Provide care and coordinate transportation for injured skiers and riders, following risk-management protocols.
• Support snow safety and avalanche control operations, and manage routine trail openings/closures.
• Evaluate patroller performance, assist in staffing decisions, and ensure payroll accuracy and training compliance.
• Participate in lift evacuations and emergency response procedures as needed.
• Coordinate with other departments and liaise with government agencies as required.
