Qualifications

• Possess high school diploma or GED.
• 20 years of age at the time of application.
• Must be at least 21 years old upon graduation from police academy.
• Must be able to or have already completed the Police Academy Program and Field Training Program (FTO) and attain Basic Peace Officer certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine preventive patrol in designated areas and establish open communications with residents and business operators.
• Respond to calls for police service and take action on situations requiring police attention.
• Interview witnesses, victims, suspects, and informants to obtain information.
• Provide information and assistance to the public and victims.
• Conduct initial crime scene investigations and collect evidence.
• Testify in civil, traffic, and criminal proceedings and maintain reports.
