Qualifications

• Be a citizen of the United States.
• 21-45 years of age (can apply at 20 if turning 21 by start date).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Good moral character.
• Suitable emotional stability.
• Acceptance into the Oklahoma State Police Pension and Retirement System.
• High school diploma or GED certificate.

Responsibilities

• Operates a motor vehicle safely for extended periods in all conditions.
• Defends self and others in physical confrontations and pursues suspects when needed.
• Directs traffic and communicates with the public and other agencies.
• Completes reports and citations as required by law and department policy.
• Interviews and interrogates victims, suspects, and witnesses.
• Testsify in court and provide information to prosecutors.
