Job summary

The City of Eden Prairie is hiring a Police Officer in the Patrol Division. The role involves proactive patrols, rapid response to incidents, and enforcing laws to protect the community.

Candidates should have a degree preferred in law enforcement or a related field and must be POST eligible by July 1, 2027. A $3,500 hiring bonus is offered after successful Field Training and one year of service. Shifts rotate including nights and weekends at the Eden Prairie City Center.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in law enforcement or related field preferred.
• Minnesota POST eligibility required by July 1, 2027.
• Strong knowledge of criminal and traffic law preferred.
• Ability to pass pre-employment process including background, drug and psych eval.

Responsibilities

• Proactively patrols the community to deter crime and ensure safety.
• Responds to calls, documents incidents, and progresses investigations.
• Enforces laws and traffic regulations; provides public safety education.
• Participates in specialized assignments after 12 months on the job.
