Job summary

Responsibilities

• Patrol designated areas within the jurisdiction to deter crime, enforce laws, and ensure public safety.
• Respond promptly to emergency calls, accidents, disturbances, and other incidents requiring police intervention.
• Conduct thorough investigations of criminal activities, accidents, and incidents, including collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing detailed reports.
• Arrest and process suspects in accordance with legal procedures, ensuring the protection of suspects' rights and adherence to departmental policies.
• Enforce traffic laws, conduct traffic stops, and investigate traffic accidents to ensure the safe flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
• Engage with the community through proactive outreach initiatives, public education programs, and participation in community events to build trust and foster positive relationships.
• Assist individuals in distress, provide guidance and support to victims of crime, and refer individuals to appropriate social services as needed.
• Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies, government agencies, and community organizations to address public safety concerns and implement crime prevention strategies.
• Maintain proficiency in the use of firearms, defensive tactics, and other law enforcement equipment through regular training and certification.
• Participate in ongoing professional development activities, including attending training sessions, seminars, and workshops to enhance job-related knowledge and skills.
• Serve as a positive role model for fellow officers and always uphold the values and ethics of the police department.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervising officers or departmental leadership.
