The City of Eugene is seeking qualified applicants for Police Officer to serve the Eugene community. Beginning testing phases will be scheduled on a rolling basis with a 90-day timeline from testing to the first day of employment.

Applicants must meet DPSST certification standards, be 21 by February 26, 2027, and pass a comprehensive background, physical, and drug screening. The position offers bilingual pay benefits and strong City benefits.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age by February 26, 2027.
• No felony convictions. No Class A Misdemeanor convictions within 24 months of application.
• Must be able to work various shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must meet DPSST standards for basic certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of law enforcement duties; respond to incidents and investigations.
• Patrol assigned areas, enforce laws, make arrests, preserve crime scene evidence.
• Summarize events in reports; conduct preventative community policing for diverse neighborhoods.
