The Burlington Police Department in Burlington, North Carolina is seeking a Police Officer to perform general law enforcement duties across patrol, investigations, or other assignments such as D.A.R.E. and K-9 support.

Officers are highly visible in community areas and must remain assertive, professional, and fair in all interactions. The role requires knowledge of laws and department policies, strong report writing and communication skills, and sound judgment under pressure.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of laws and policies including State and Federal statutes and local ordinances.
• Experience with patrol methods, investigations, and use of department equipment.
• Familiarity with forensics concepts and crime scene processes.
• Experience with firearms and self-defense techniques.
• Clear and concise report writing and effective communication.

Responsabilités

• Perform general law enforcement duties including patrol, traffic enforcement and responding to incidents.
• Investigate incidents, gather evidence, interview witnesses, and file reports.
• Serve criminal papers and locate individuals for warrants or arrests.
• Maintain public safety and develop professional relationships with the community.
• Support the justice system by assisting prosecutors and testifying when required.
