Job summary

The City of Sanger is seeking a Police Officer to patrol the City, investigate incidents, and enforce federal, state, and local laws. You will gather statements, perform searches, and conduct arrests as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum twelve (12) college hours with 2.0 GPA.
• Valid Texas Class C Driver’s license prior to employment; TCOLE eligible.
• Must have Basic Peace Officers certification or ability to obtain.
• No disqualifying criminal history (probation, felonies, or family violence).

Responsibilities

• Gathers information in investigations by interviewing witnesses, suspects, and informants.
• Performs patrol duties, including shifts, walking, and police vehicle operation.
• Engages with citizens to identify problems and deploy resources to reduce impact.
• Conducts visual and audio surveillance for extended periods; makes arrests when needed.
• Performs searches of people, vehicles, buildings, and large outdoor areas.
• Pursues fleeing suspects and conducts rescue operations as required.
• Operates a law enforcement vehicle in varied conditions day and night.
• Communicates rights, information, and directions to all ages; mediates disputes.
• Processes arrested suspects including photographing and fingerprint collection.
