Job summary

The State of South Carolina is seeking an Employment Assistant Manager to support statewide recruitment and manage SCHP employment functions from application through hiring. You will coordinate screenings, examinations, background investigations, and related activities for SCHP applicants.

You will also oversee communication with applicants and assist in scheduling medical, psychological, and drug screenings, while reporting to the SCHP Employment Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; must hold SC Class I law enforcement certification.
• Five years of certified law enforcement service time.
• Residency within Richland County or nearby within four months of the effective date.

Responsibilities

• Assist planning, coordination, and administration of SCHP hiring and employment functions.
• Maintain communication with applicants throughout the employment process and manage all phases of employment processing.
• Oversee scheduling of tests, background investigations, medical evaluations, polygraphs, and related activities.
• Provide guidance on employment qualifications, requirements, and procedures.
