Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Peace Officer Post Certification; Pre-service or MTLETC preferred.
• Two years of public contact work experience required.
• CJIN/NCIC Mobile Computer certification within one year of employment.
• First Aid and CPR certification within one year of employment.
• Valid Montana driver’s license required.
• US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Protect life and property; preserve the public peace; enforce all laws.
• Provide information and assistance to motorists, pedestrians and the public.
• Perform traffic enforcement and investigate traffic accidents; issue warnings/citations.
• Manage an assigned area to prevent crime, traffic violations and accidents.
• Apprehend suspects, give Miranda warning, transport, and complete necessary paperwork.
