Job summary

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned area in vehicle and on foot; maintains high patrol visibility to deter crime
• Performs police-community relations: meets citizens, visits businesses, advises safety measures
• Responds to incidents, investigates, and secures scenes; gathers statements
• Receives emergency and non-emergency radio runs; uses siren/lights as needed; relays information
• Prepare incident reports, capias information sheets, arrest slips, and related documents
• Performs traffic enforcement: stops vehicles, checks licenses, issues citations
• Assists in criminal investigations; interviews victims and witnesses; coordinates with detectives
• Testifies in court and communicates with prosecutors and other agencies
