Hanover Park Police Department is seeking qualified candidates for a probationary police officer position. The starting pay is $86,286.09 with a probationary period, and the salary upon completion of probation ranges from $88,047.02 to $121,454.73 per year.

Qualifications

• At least 20 years of age and not past 35 by application submission date.
• Associates degree or 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours or military service proof.
• Valid Driver’s License in good standing.
• P.O.W.E.R. card within the past 365 days.
• No felony convictions and good moral character.
• 35-mile residency requirement after one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform police patrol, traffic control and enforcement.
• Conduct preliminary investigations into criminal and non-criminal activity.
• Promote crime prevention and enforce laws within a designated area.
• Respond to emergencies and render first aid when needed.
• Provide backup and liaison with State Attorney's office and other agencies.
• Investigate non-criminal calls and assist in counseling and follow-up actions.

Education

Associate's Degree / 60 semester hours / 90 quarter hours

Active military service documentation or 180 days combat duty
