Job summary

The Buena Park Police Department is seeking Police Officer Pre-Trained applicants who have graduated from a California POST-certified basic police academy and are not currently employed as sworn officers with a CA law enforcement agency. Salary up to $144,331 annually with a $12,000 signing bonus.

Qualified candidates will serve in a community-oriented department with modern facilities and opportunities across specialized units and programs, including K9, SWAT, Traffic, and CID.

Qualifications

• Must have California POST-Certified Basic Police Academy.
• Not currently employed as sworn officer with a California law enforcement agency.

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned area and enforces federal, state and local laws.
• Prepares citations, reports, and documentation; conducts preliminary investigations.
• Responds to incidents and emergencies; controls scenes and provides first aid when needed.
• Testifies in court and presents evidence; assists in investigations.
