The Village of Hanover Park is seeking qualified individuals for a Police patrol and investigations role under general supervision. This position covers traffic control, preliminary investigations, and enforcing local laws to protect life and property.

Lateral entry candidates with valid certification and the ability to complete onboarding will be considered. Hiring salary ranges from $92,600.22 to $121,454.73 per year, with a 12-month probation period.

Qualifications

• Under general supervision, performs police patrol, traffic control and enforcement, initial investigations into criminal and non-criminal activity and related functions involving the safety and protection of life and property.

Responsibilities

• Receives briefing at shift commencement and assigns beat duties.
• Responds to radio calls, assists other agencies in emergencies, and renders first aid when needed.
• Investigates criminal and non-criminal incidents, notifies supervisor when backup is required, and documents findings.
• Patrols areas by vehicle or on foot, checks premises for signs of entry, and deters crime.
