The City of East Point Police Department is seeking Police Officers to perform patrol, traffic enforcement, and community policing duties. The role requires commitment to protecting life and property, with opportunities for specialization based on department needs.

Officers may be assigned to different duties and must complete required training, including firearms and legal updates, while serving the public across East Point.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; meet POST certification and/or academy requirements.
• Two years of Police Officer experience for Officer II; must be a certified Peace Officer.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, on-call, and travel as required.

Responsabilités

• Patrol assigned area; respond to calls; issue citations and/or make arrests; prepare reports; testify in court.
• Traffic enforcement; conduct road closures; investigate vehicle accidents; operate traffic control equipment.
• Engage in community policing and crime prevention activities; gather victim/witness information; participate in problem-solving and public safety initiatives.
• Other related duties as assigned including court and City Hall security and transport of inmates.
